Chrysler Repair: 96 Concorde w/autotemp control: blower high only, chrysler concorde, autotemp

Question
location for resistor (resistor module) on my 96 Chrysler Concorde w/ATC. fan always on high, I suspect I need a resistor.

Answer
Hi Bob,
You are correct but the name of the unit is the 'blower power module' and is a solid state circuit rather than a set of resistors so that you get 14 rather than only 4 speeds as with the resistor block-type. In either case, for this model/timeframe vehicle, the module is located in the airduct just downstream from the blower motor. So you have to remove the right side dash underpanel to see the area. It is on the underside of the duct and you can locate it by following all the wires from the control panel and blower that are attached to it by plugs. It has a couple of screws that hold it in place. Replacing that with a new or used one should restore your multispeeds.
