Tractor Repair: Case Hydraulic Problem, haybine, hydraulic problem

I just bought a Case 1290 diesel. When I hooked it up to my haybine the hydraulics are not working to raise it. The 3PH has been working fine to lift a bushhog. The fittings on the haybine were used with an Oliver 1800, but they fit the Case. Can the fittings "fit", but not work? The lever that I believe controls the hydraulics does nothing. The fluid level shows full. Help.

yes it is posible that the fitting would fit but not work if fittings are of the wrong type the nipples wont touch each other to open them
but this should not stop the 3ph from going up first make sure the draft control is in the position mode then check the pump drive out the front of the engine to make sure the pump is being driven properly the coupling here can give trouble then get back to me
