Tractor Repair: noise in MF 35 Transmission, mf 35, good shape

Question
I have a 1960's MF 35 that started making a noise in the transmission.  The noise is only in 2nd and 3rd high and low range.  It will not make the noise unless the tractor is pulling and the noise will quit as soon as the clutch is pressed.  The noise sounds similar to the noise when trying to ingage the transmission without the clutch fulley depressed. I looked thru the oil fill hole and the only gears that i can see look to be in good shape.

Answer
The problem is probably your throw out bearing of your clutch. If not then you need to drain the oil and see if there is any metal in the bottom if there is then you are going to have to tear it down. You might have a needle bearing out on one of the shafts.
