Tractor Repair: Ford 9N brakes, ford 9n, manual brakes

My husband and I just bought a Ford 9N. We have used it to pull our hay wagon. It has manual brakes. Starting friday, the brakes won't stop the tractor. We think it's possible that it needs new brakes pads. Would that be your guess also? I understand that electrical is more in your line, but thought you might have some advice.

it is hard to say as i don't know this tractor very well but with mechanical brakes they need adjusting every now and then as they are not self adjusting like tractors with brake fluid so i would try adjust the brakes first if it is not possible to adjust the brakes back into use then the brakes probably need to be replaced
