Tractor Repair: hydraulic loss, craicked suction pipe

Question
QUESTION: hi there ive got a kubota b2150 ,ive just replaced clutch that drives the hydraulic g/box,top up the oil but got no drive only pto and loader works properly,do i have bleed the oil ?i did not put kubotas recomended oil in but similar hydraulic oil could this cause the problem?

ANSWER: as long as the oil is the same grade it is ok. the hydraulic system is seperate to the gearbox the gearbox is hydrostatic and you must have a fault here.was the clutch in bad shape when you changed it.check the oil on the dipstick if there is bubbles in the oil you could have a suction problem ive never actually worked on these i only worked on kubota mini diggers but i checked around and there is a seperate filter for the hydrostatic id change this too hope this helps let me know what problem you had before you changed the clutch (was the loader pto working before you changed the clutch)

QUESTION: hi there
thanks for your response,i do get forward and backwards movement when tractor is idling but soon as i put the revs up it goes completely and makes a noise ,i have changed the filter now have cleaned the screening filter at the start of suction pipe.could it be relief valve stuck or is it still gbox?
thanks

Answer
sounds like a suction problem probably a cracked suction pipe.when the tractor is idling its nearly able to get enough oil to work but as you rev up the engine you need two or three times the amount of oil and it must not be able to get it.if it is a cracked suction pipe one way you could check this is to over fill the oil well over its normal level so the oil level is above the crack if the tractor work properly now its defiantly a cracked suction pipe you can recover the excess oil later by draining it into a clean drum.if it only works a bit better you might not have the level above the crack yet hope this helps you find the problem
