Tractor Repair: My kubota cooling fan, drive shaft, snap rings

Question
I have a BX2660 compact kubota and the fan that cools the hydrostatic drive broke. I'm not near a dealer, so I'd like to replace it here on my farm. I have the new fan and have disconnected the pump drive from the engine, but can't slide it either way far enough to get the fan off. Can you advise? Thanks

Answer
Looks to me like from the parts break down, that you might have to take the snap rings off the couplers and try to move them around to give you some more room. The couplers have four balls that drive off the hub. You might end up taking them completely apart by the time you get that fan out. The snap rings are under the  covers on the drive shaft. Don't worry if you break them they are less than $2.00 apiece. There are springs on the back side of the couplings also so watch out for them. Hope this helps,Let me know how you do. If you still are having trouble take some pictures and I might be able to help more.
