Tractor Repair: 1066 steering motor, hand pumps, rubber sleeve

How do I repair an IH 1066 hand pump (motor) I've replaced the inner seal on the bottom side of the pump and it still leaks. Please help.

Hello,

  It sounds like you are referring to the seal that looks like a rubber sleeve that goes inside the end with the bolts around it.  There are about 4 different hand pumps used on this model, and 2 different lower seals that are available.  You have to use the correct length seal so that it will protrude slightly before the end cap is bolted down.  Possibly you got the wrong seal, or maybe it is leaking somewhere else.  There is a seal and o-ring on the upper end under the steering wheel that can leak also, and the hose fittings sometimes leak.
