Tractor Repair: case mx 135 stuck in neutral, case mx 135, dash flashes

Question
i have tried checking the seat switch and have also changed the forward reverse neutral switch on the steering column. the light still blinks on the dash, and the alarm is still sounding. I don't know what to do next.  Is there a reset for the trouble codes possibly?

Answer
Hello,

The seat switch doesn't fail, it's the wiring to it that fails.  The wires break behind the seat suspension from bending as the seat is moving up and down.  When this happens, the neutral light on the dash flashes and the tractor won't move.  I will assume this is the light that is flashing.  You could verify by temporarily bypassing the seat switch with a jumper wire where the seat switch wire plugs into the cab harness by the bottom of the right hand control console, between the console and the seat.  Not sure what alarm you are referring to.  The only alarm I can think of is the parking brake alarm.  Check the parking brake switch.  If there are fault codes stored, the green light next to the pto switch will be flashing.  To retrieve the codes, stay off the seat, turn on the pto, and turn on the key switch.  The green light will flash out the codes.  The pto switch must be turned off and back on to go through the list of codes that are stored.  At the end of the list, the pto must be turned off and back on 3 times quickly to erase the codes.  I do not have a list of what the codes mean.  You could write them down before erasing and ask a dealer what they mean.
