Tractor Repair: MF 135, perkins diesel, mf 135

Question
The fuel tank on for the Perkins diesel will have a vacuum on it after operating the tractor.  The fuel system occasionally get air to the injectors causing the tractor to die or not start or start and die after a few seconds. Bleeding of injectors is required. What is happening?

Answer
Hello,

If there is a vacuum in the fuel tank, then the tank vent is plugged and not venting properly.  Some machines have a vented fuel cap, and others have a separate vent somewhere else on the tank.  This is probably what is causing it to run out of fuel and die.
