Tractor Repair: Hydraulic Pump Location, hydraulic problem, hydraulic pump

Question
I am working on a Case-IH 995 tractor, I have a $200.00 plus service manual that the gentleman bought from the dealer. it says the hydraulic pump is located behind the PTO. however the back does not come off the rear end housing to expose the pump. just trying to find out where the pump is for sure before I split the back section of the tractor. Any help would be quite helpful Thanks

Answer
Hello,

There's the Case IH 995 and the Case David Brown 995, so sometimes there is confusion between these models, but if it's the correct manual I don't know why it would tell you that.  The pump would be near the pto clutch but not the actual pto.  The hydraulic pump is mounted to the inside of the multiple control valve on the left side in front of the left rear axle.  You won't need to split it, you should only need to remove the multiple control valve to get to the pump.  Don't know what hydraulic problem it is having, but sometimes the gasket and o-rings in the multiple control valve blow out causing a loss of hydraulics.  Either way, the multiple control valve has to come off.
