Tractor Repair: Ford Jubilee, spark plug wire, tank fuel

Question
I have a Ford Jubilee that will only run for a few minutes and then stall.  If I let it set for a minute or so, then it will start up again and run for another minute or so.  It seems to get worse the longer it runs.  For example, when I first go out, it may run for 5 minutes or so, but is only running for 30 seconds by the time I give up.  I checked the fuel tank, fuel line, and carb and that is all fine.  I did go ahead and put a new carb kit in about a month ago, but obviously didn't help.  I have had some people say that it may be the coils heating up???  What is your opinion?  Thanks for you input.

Answer
Hello,

When the engine stops, pull a spark plug wire and crank the engine to check for spark.  If it's losing spark, then replace the points and condenser first.  If that doesn't help, then possibly the coil is bad.  Like I tell everyone, the fuel has to run full stream out of the fuel line when you check the flow from the tank.  A little dribble is not enough to keep it running, especially under load.
