Question
Hi I have a 9 n that quits after it gets hot i have replaced the coil the points and condenser and A friend of mine and I went threw and replaced every peace of wiring on this thing still quits when hot if i leave it for an hour it will usually start back up and run for a little while but it usually runs longest the first time you start it for the day

Answer
Hello,

When the engine dies, pull off a spark plug wire and hold it near the engine and crank the engine over to see if there's spark.  If there is, then it's a fuel problem.  The sediment bowl and valve should be removed from the tank and blown out with compressed air, and flush the tank out.  If there is no spark, then check for power to the coil from the ignition switch.  If there is none, check the switch and the resistor behind the dash.  Those are the only things left, you have already replaced most of the ignition parts.
