Tractor Repair: Steering slips on IH 300 utility, salvage yard, gearbox

Hello,
 I have manual steering on my International Harvestor 300 utility that is slipping in the gearbox. Is there way to tighten this up or is there a stripped gear in there?

Hello,

  If it is to the point that it slips, it is way beyond adjustment in order to fix it.  There is probably a bearing that failed, or a gear that is severely worn out.  It will have to be taken apart and rebuilt, or you might just get a different gearbox from a salvage yard.
