Tractor Repair: Brakes MF270, slave cylinder, master cylinder

Question
Hi,
I bought a MF 270 that seems to not have any brakes on the right side. It has
wet brakes and when depressed the pedal goes to it's stop without any
resistance nor any braking effect. Like it is disconnected somehow. Any
thoughts on where to start working on this problem. All other hydraulics, left
brake, and emergency brake seem to work fine. Thank you, David

Answer
Hello,

The right brake may just need to be bled out, or there may be a problem with the master cylinder, or in the brake slave cylinder. Remove the brake line from the master cylinder and cap off the outlet on the master cylinder, or remove the brake line from the slave cylinder and plug the end of the line.  Push on the pedal. If the pedal does not go down, then the problem is in the slave cylinder.  If the pedal still goes down, then the master cylinder is bad.

                       Good luck,
