Tractor Repair: Kubota B6100, coolant leak, diesel fuel

Question
I have a Kubota B6100 that appears to be getting Diesel into the oil pan.  When I pull the dip stick out is pours out.  I've eliminated a coolant leak but, I have to relook the hydraulic fluid.  99% positive it's diesel fuel in the oil.

Answer
Hello,

I'm not an expert on Asian tractors as stated in my profile, but I should be able to give some advice on this question.  You would know if it was a coolant leak because the oil would get milky and slimy, and if you crack the drain plug loose, coolant would come out before any oil because the oil would float on top.  If you had hydraulic oil going into the engine, you should see your hydraulic oil level getting lower and have to add occasionally.  If the engine oil is way overfull and it's diesel fuel, you should be able to smell it in the oil.  Your oil should smell just like fuel, and it won't be as slippery and oily feeling on your fingers.  If there is no lift pump to pump fuel from the tank to the injection pump, and if the engine runs normally otherwise, then the injection pump has an internal leak.  If it has a mechanical lift pump, check that first.

                    Good luck,
