Tractor Repair: jd 540 loader, hose connection

Question
I have a 540 loader on a jd 5410 and I had a hose rupture.  I reloaced the hose and topped off the fluid but now the loaded is sometime slow to respond.  I have used it many times since the repair and it alway has this issue. Do you have any suggestions for correcting this?

Answer
Hello,

There has to be air trapped in the hose or in the cylinder.  Without seeing it, it's impossible for me to tell you where you can bleed the air out.  Since air rises to the top, sometimes it's necessary to remove the cylinder and tip it so the hose connection is at highest point, and crack the fitting loose so the air can come out.  You may have to do this on both sides, not just on the side you replaced the hose.
