Tractor Repair: Massey-fergusion 175, massey fergusion, bolt torque

Question
Hi Arnie,
I have a massey - fergusion 175 that I had to lift the head on. I would like to know what the head torque values are and if there is a torque pattern recommended. This is a Perkins engine. That's all I know
thanks
Philip

Answer
Hello,

I found the torque specs today.  Head bolt torque is 85 ft. lbs regardless if it's a gas engine or a diesel.  They're both the same torque.  Start in the center of the head, and work your way to the ends going from one bolt to the diagonally opposite on the other side.  I can only put text in this message so I can't send a diagram.

                          Good luck,
