Tractor Repair: lawn tractor, hp 48, check fuel

Question
   I have a craftsman 25.0 HP 48" automatic transmission (model 917.273664). My problem is it starts great but when I release the parking brake and let out the brake/clutch the engine starts to shut off. As soon as I press the brake in the engine cotinues to run. I have replaced the seat presence switch as well as the PTO switch. I also tried to engage the blades with the brake set and the engine starts to die if you do that. Any help with this problem would be appriciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi randy.
It would seem that something may have jambed up the works and every time you try to drive off the engine is trying to work against the blockage and its too much to handle?

WITH THE ENGINE OFF--can you tilt the machine over on one side and check that all parts are free to move pulleys belts etc.-- check fuel tank filler cap for leaks!!!!

It may just need a good clean under neath.
also give everything a good grease whilst your down there.
