Tractor Repair: Stalling Case 440, exact settings, tractor repair

Question
I have a case 440, i think like a 1968.  I can hardly start it without seriously playing with the choke.  Easing it off slowly to the point of almost stalling several times.  Good fuel, good vacuum to the carb, good switch.  I'm kinda getting lost here with this one.  Fixed just abouot everything else, lol.  This one just gets me.  Thanks for your help.

Hi Jeff.
Don’t see many petrol jobs these days. You do not mention the electrics ---POINTS PLUGS ETC/ from my experience on these older jobs they seem to be very sanative to badly set up or worn points gap etc ---!
Have you checked these lately, also the plugs have them out clean and gap. Check the manual for exact settings.
Do not skimp on cost in this area. Get back to me and let me know how you get on!
