Tractor Repair: craftsman drive belt replacement, car alternator, tension adjustment

I have on older CraftsmanII 12hp 38" cut lawn tractor. The drive belt was missing when I got it, so I ordered one to put in. can you give me any instructions on how to install it? Is there a tension adjustment on either of the pulleys to reduce to get the belt on like a car alternator?
Or could you direct me as to where to find a service manual I can buy for it?  Thanks

Hi Chris.
Yes you are on the right track in your ref to car alternator. The Firm that supplied the new belt should also be able to supply a manual. !
Other wise try some surfing WWW –craftsman spares etc, should be a good start.
