Tractor Repair: Cub cadet #2284 hydraulic steering question, cub cadet, steering wheel

I recently purchased a cub cadet # 2284 super tractor this is the first mower that I've owned with hydraulic steering. The steering wheel seems to have alot of play in it and you have to correct the direction of the mower alot to keep it going straight. My question is this. Is there a way to adjust something or do I have a problem with the hydraulic's? Thanks Rod

First identify if your problem is in the hydraulics or in the steering parts --- with the unit running check the linkage while a friend moves the wheel --- is things seem loose your problem is in the steering system -- if things are tight then your hydraulics are bad and the cylinders need rebuilding.
