Tractor Repair: International 574, international 574 tractor, injector lines

Question
I have an International 574 tractor and I ran out of fuel after 7 yrs of operation without a fuel gauge.  I recently had a new fuel gauge put on and when bushogging last night heard the sputter- looked down and had 1/4 tank.  Tried to move about 50 ft so I could be in a mowed area (mistake) and that was it.  I have tried priming, filling my filers, loosening...Got it running - ran for about 10 minutes died.  Wont turn over now.  Any helpful advice.  No bleeding screw?  or priming pump.

Answer
Beth no you are correct there is no priming pump it is a gravity feed system with a charge pump built into the injector pump.
So you will need to fill the tank with fuel and then change the fuel filter and on top of the fuel filter you will find a screw open it up and fuel should start to come out if it does not arrive at the screw you can take the cap off the tank and blow some air into the tank by mouth after wiping the opening with a rag.
Then the fuel will or should come out of the bleeder then close it off there is sometimes a bleeder on the fuel line from the filter to the pump you can open it and bleed the air out and close it then open a couple of injector lines to bleed the air out as you crank the engine over then close the injector lines and crank engine again then it should start if it does not start repeat the bleeding again.
Beth if you can not get the fuel to the filter you may have a blocked fitting in the bottom of the fuel tank remove the line and allow the diesel to flow to clear it out.
Then bleed the system again.
Hope this helps with your problem Bethh.
