Tractor Repair: 1944 FORD 2N, ford 2n, bush hog

Question
THE TRACTOR STARTS & IDLES FINE BUT WHEN YOU TRY TO GO UP A HILL OR PULL A BUSH HOG IT SPUTTERS LIKE THE GOVERNOR IS NOT KICKIN IN.
I HAVE TAKEN THE GOVERNOR APART AND SEEN NO UNUSAL WEAR AND EVERYTHING TURNS FREELY.
I ALSO HAVE ADJUSTED THE LINKAGE AS SHOWN IN THE MANUAL BUT STILL NOTHING.

Answer
Darren I am sure that the problem you have is a fuel problem but not the governor system.
Firstly do you have an adjustable main jet in the carbie this is usually a knurled knob that can be adjusted if you do turn it anti clockwise 1 or 2 turns if this works.
I would pull the carbie apart and clean out the bowl and re adjust the main jet look at the fuel tap on the tank as well as this area some times collects rubbish and blocks.
These areas are the places I feel the problems are.
