Tractor Repair: massey ferguson 65 dsl., massey ferguson 65, hometown aol

Question
i have had this tractor for a few years now & have used it alot . now though the clutch seems that  my clutch is not as good as before. is there any adjustment at all. since i have owned it you can never switch the pto on w/o shutting the engine off. this is supposed to work w/ the clutch also isn't it?

Answer
Hi Randy
I am sure that the PTO clutch needs the internal adjustment made is why it will not release so it will go into gear. If your main clutch is slipping I doubt adjusting it will help unless it is being caused because it has no pedal free travel. If it wont release it could be because the pedal free travel needs to be adjusted. I have a picture that shows how to makes the main & pto clutch adjustments I can email it to you if you will send me an Email address to send it to.
