Triumph Repair: clutch, roadster factory, moss motors

Question
Triumph Spitfire MK2 1966 1200 cc.

have fitted 6.5 spring clutch but nuts on pressure plate catch clutch fork.
diaphragm clutch does not match flywheel. Any suggestions.

Answer
Hi David,

The early Spitfires all used the same disk and pressure plate. So either the parts supplier gave you the wrong parts or someone before you switched the transmission or engine or even just the flywheel. I would contact Moss Motors or the Roadster Factory and give them the part numbers off of the boxes the parts came in so they can cross them to what ever they should fit.

Another thing to do is to get the prefix off of the engine number and the gearbox and give them to me and I can at least confirm if both are for a 66 Spitfire.

Moss Motors tech line is very helpful on the correct part number.
