Triumph Repair: triumph 1300 no spark to wires or plugs, triumph 1300, point gap

Ok so I recently started restoring my dads old car and I've poked around with a test light to find that it has no power after it reaches the distribute put new Dcap and rotter in still no spark I don't no where to go from here

Hi Brian,
The Triumph 1300 had points, so the first place to look is the points to see that they open and close when the engine is rotated and adjust the point gap when open to .015" and confirm that they make electrical contact when closed and are open circuit when open. If they are pitted and burned replace them and the condenser.
