Triumph Repair: clutch release bearing 77 spit, clutch, release bearing

Question
hey jim,
i'm having fits removing the release bearing. i simply
cannot drive out the pins on either side of the sleeve that
the bearing fits on. is there any way to remove the bearing
without taking the sleeve off the operator.
thanks

Answer
Rob,

You might be able to get creative with a couple of blocks of wood (oak works great if it's handy) to support the sleeve/clutch fork while being able to push on the "back side" of the bearing to move it off the sleeve.

Or clamp the whole setup to a table and use a bearing puller to pull the release bearing off the sleeve?

The key is to not put too much strain on sleeve where it's held onto the clutch fork.

Cheers,

Jim
