Triumph Repair: 1980 spitfire, main bearing, driving car

forgot to tell you the year of car. Camshaft is frozen. will not turn. Head is off and lifters are ouyt. Was driving car and oilfilter came off. timing chain broke.

Hi Mark,
Sorry to tell you but when a oil filter comes off you lost all oil pressure to all of your bearings and major damage to all bearings is a sure thing in a matter of seconds. So, your rod and main bearing are most likely destroyed also. Time for an engine overhaul.
