Triumph Repair: SU HIF44 (HIF6) Needle choice., alcohol fuel, camshaft

Hi Howard,

I need to know the needles required for a triple SU 44 carb' set-up. They will be running on the 308778 (25-65-65-25) camshaft. Although this cam' is Ex' Mk2 Pi, Triumph gave it to the Vitesse Mk2 on carbs. But the carbs were 1.5" for that, running a 2000cc engine. Whereas mine will be for 1.75" carbs running a 2500cc engine. The answer maybe the SU equivalent of the Stromberg B1AF from the TR6, but that car ran a 311399 (18-58) camshaft, so,- Hope you can help. Nick.

Ha! very funny. Unless someone had done that exact same modifications there is no one on this planet that will be able to tell you exactly which needle is needed.
