Triumph Repair: Triumph Spitfire stuck in reverse, gear shift, triumph spitfire

I lifted my gear shift in the up position to put my 1980 Triumph Spitfire in reverse.  It is now stuck in the up position. How do I get the gear shift back down so it functions normally?

Hi Scott,
That depends on what made it stick in the up position. You are going to have to remove the center tunnel cover to look at it and see why it is stuck. If it is not clearly evident what is wrong let me know and I will tell you how to take the shift tower apart to see.
