Triumph Repair: 1978 triumph spitfire bumper, Spitfire chrome bumper

Are there any chrome over riders to replace the rubber ones on the front and rear bumper for a 1978 spitfire?  If so where could I source?  if not where can I get new rubber ones?  Thanks

There were never any chrome over riders from the factory.   And so far I've never seen anyone doing an aftermarket piece in metal.   Consider that the set of 4 would add another 20 pounds or so to a car that was overweight and under powered in stock form.

The original rubber pieces are not available new but you might ask some of the Spitfire specialists if they have clean used units.

The popular "fix" is to fit the Mk IV bumper setup from the '71 thru '74 Spitfires.  The front thin plastic over riders are available as reproductions in both fiberglass and better fitting plastic.   The rear main bumper bar is basically the same but the later cars have holes to fit the chromed center section.
