Triumph Repair: Spitfire 1500 trunnion lube, grease gun, jan jan

   How do you get 90 wt grease(oil)to stay in a greese gun? I mean doesn't it leak out before you get it in the trunnion? Is there some special kind of grease gun I should have? I'm always looking for excuses to get new tools.

The gun I use is one of the ones that takes a small diameter short cartridge.  Picked it up about 20 years ago, no idea if it's still available.

You can get away with using a modern light grease, as long as you pump fresh grease in on a regular basis to float the contaminants away.
