Triumph Repair: coil springs, tire clearance, mark 3

Thanks for the last answer you gave me re clutch.

I have changed the front springs and shocks on my 67 spitfire mark 3 and installed spax springs and shocks, my problem now is its lowered a bit too much, tire clearance is not enough, so its touching when I load and turn the car, how can I higher the car a bit to clear without changing shocks and springs again, will a shim of some sort work

Hi Joe,
The most common method is to shim under the springs. If you can't locate the correct size shims you may need to make them. Many just flare the edge of the fenders to gain more clearance. I think Eastwood sells a tool to roll the edge and you don't have to even do any paint or body work to do it.
