Triumph Repair: 72TR6 Blowing 30 amp fuse, amp fuses, amp fuse

Question
I own a 1972 TR6. I got tired of all the electrical issues so several ago I had a new wire harness install. All has been fine until now and now I'm blowing 30 amp fuses again like I did before the harness. This works the signals, not sure what else. When the new harness was installed it was suppose to take 2 weeks , it took over 3 months I questioned the mechanic if he purchased the correct harness to the car and he said yes, but I see a lot of wires that still go nowhere. Any ideas on the 30 amp fuse blowing?

Answer
Look for one of your "going nowhere" wires that the connector is exposed and grounding out.

Look also for a wire that isn't part of the harnes (i.e. part of the switch) to see if one of them has worn insulation and is grounding out.

Sorry to say, but this is going to be a lengthly process of elimination, tracing wires and making sure they aren't grounding out.  It could even be grounding out within one of the light housings.  But if it was OK for a period of time, and then started blowing again, look for a wire rubbing on the body somewhere, and wearing through the insulation.

Hope that helps.
