Triumph Repair: fuel gauge, gauge reading, fuel gauge

Jim...my fuel gauge keeps reading full...have a new voltage regulator, in fact the sending unit is new last year. What else can I check/replace to get this proper> (this is a 72 MK IV btw)

Empty the tank below the level of the sender unit and make sure the sender is moving freely and not hung up.

If that's not the problem, try disconnecting the wires on the sender, you should see the gauge reading change.  If the gauge reading doesn't change, you may need to start tracing wiring under the dash to look for chewed wires (mice LOVE the wire harnesses).
