Triumph Repair: replaceing cam bearings, shaft bearings, cam bearings

Question
I'm currently re building a TR-3 engine and would like to know how to replace the cam shaft bearings. How Do I line up the holes in the bearing with those in the block. The first one looks easy enough to line up but the two inner bearing bother me??

Answer
WHile I'm not familiar with the TR3, when I install cam bearings, I sit the bearing in the desired position then tap them in with the bearing install tool you get at HF or any automotive tool store.  If it doesn't line up, tap out and try again.  It doesn't have to be perfectly centered, just so that it is unobstructed.   On the spits, the bearing hole is larger than the feed hole in the block, so it isn't much of a issue to install.

I've had to fabricate a longer install rod to reach the inner bearing races, and attach that to the bearing holder.

Hope that helps.
