Triumph Repair: TR6 oil smells like petrol, electric fuel pump, fuel pump

Hi Scott,

I've got the dreaded petrol smell in the oil of my TR6. I gather it's either in the fuel pump, or the carbs, but I'm not sure where to start or what the proper order should be to check for faults to sort out what's causing it.

-Check the plugs to make sure one isn't wet, indicating it is not firing and the cylinder is full of fuel.
-Convert to an electric fuel pump, pulling mechanical and blank off the port
-Change the oil out so that you have a clean control condition.
