Triumph Repair: lucas 25d4 distributor, vacuum unit, spring plate

hi howard,how do i replace a vacuum unit on my tr4a.it has a lucas 25d4 distributor? many thanks,john.

Hi John,
Remove the small "C" clip from the end of the adjustment rod and unscrew the adjuster knob and pry the operating rod off of the peg inside on the points plate. As you unscrew the adjustment knob the vacuum unit will come out. Be sure to catch the coil spring under the knob and the small spring plate that prevents the knob from vibrating loose.
