Triumph Repair: TR7 Voltage Regulator Wiring, time howard, voltage regulator

I have an ACR 25 alternator on my TR7 that was overcharging (14.8v).  I got a replacement voltage regulator and prepared to install it.  When I opened the back of the alternator I for it had a three wire VR was in the alternator, and the replacement I had was a four wire.  When I called the people I purchased the VR from, they said that they didn't have installation instruction and nobody on staff that knows.  The VR replacement I have (and I did verify that it's the right one) has  black,yellow, white and red leads.

Hi Tom,
I have the Lucas diagrams of all the different wiring of the regulators and yes, Lucas did send out several different regulators with different number of wires on them and all will work but you do need to know which color goes where. Most of the time they put a small sheet inside with the regulator but when you don't get one and you have more wires then what are on the alt, you are in trouble.
I will have to search for the diagrams as I have not used them in years so you will have to give me some time.
