Triumph Repair: 1976 Triumph Spitfire Sag, coil over shocks, oil shocks

Question
I think that my Spitfire is sagging a bit.  I know the culprit is the transverse leaf spring, but I want to be sure.  Where is the measuring point on the rear end to determine if it is sagging and what is the measurement for an acceptable spring?

Answer
Hi Matt,
You don't have to measure any place, just put a straight edge vortically against the rear tire when you have someone in the drivers seat. If you have negative camber (tire leaning in at the top) you have a sagging spring. You have several options, replace the spring, have a spring shop re-arch the spring, replace the shocks with "Coil-Over" shocks or put in "Gas-Over Oil" shocks to help lift the rear up.
