Triumph Repair: Spitfire door and ignition locks, roadster factory, moss motors

Question
Hi Jim.  On my 1980  Spitfire I only got a key for the Ingnition when I got the car.  I understand the ignition, door and trunk all had different keys.  Is this correct?  My real problem si the ignition key doesn't work well.  I have to giggle it and wiggle the steering wheel to get it to turn.  So, I'd like to replace it but I didn't find any in any catalogs I have.  Are Ignition switches available someplace?  My ignition key doesn't fit in the door so I'm assuming they were different and again I couldn't find door locks in any catalogs.  Are they available anywhere?  Is there a way to key all locks the same?

thanks

Answer
Hi, I'm not Jim but I will try to answer your questions. I think you will find that the ignition key is a different blank than the door or trunk so it can never be the same key. As far as a hard to operate key, you should be able to get that corrected at any local locksmith and pick up new extra keys too. I have had keys made many times by local locksmiths for MGs, Triumphs and Jaguars over the years. If any of the locks are bad you should be able to get new ones at either Moss Motors, Victoria British or The Roadster Factory.
I hope this helps even if I am not Jim.
