Triumph Repair: 74 triumph spitfire, nuts and bolts, fly wheel

Question
I am currently doing an off body restoration for my car- i will not be driving my car for a year due to loss of license, i was wondering if you had any tips on doing an off body restoration. Is there anything i need to take extra carefully with, i have taken off all the bolts and the e brake cable, the only thing that i have not unconnected are the wires. After sitting for a couple of days my car also didn't start it would just wind when i turned the key i charged the battery and the same results happened, i switched the battery with a buddies and my car killed the battery(still just winded). What is the problem? Also i plan to make many performance changes to my car. Victoria British offers a Kent cam, is this a good product? What kind of change could i expect from a light weight fly wheel, headers, dual su's, exhaust, and cam. Are there any other performance mods that you would recommend and where can i get them.(please tell brand.) Thank you in advance for your answer!!

Answer
Keep all of your nuts and bolts in separate containers and marked well, it will help a lot when going back together.
Kent is a good cam but don't get a grind that is too far into racing as it will not be good for the street. All you plan sounds good but I would add a little raise in compression. Larger intake valves are a big plus but may be a little expensive as you need a good machine shop to do the work.

Any time you modify an engine you need a different ignition timing and advance curve so in the mean time you should read up on how to change it and not go too far in any RPM range. You might want to look at the LED display for "Knock Sensing" that MSD has. While low RPM knock can easily be heard, high RPM knock is difficult to hear and is very deadly to a modified engine.
Let me know how you progress.
