Triumph Repair: antenna hole, british car club, radio antennas

Question
hello howard,
i have recently purchased a 1969 triumph spitfire mark 3.  we are in the process of restoring it.  there is a hole on top of the passenger side rear fender or rear panel. is this the hole for the antenna?  i am also wondering if there is a correct placement spot for the rear trunk spitfire and mark 3 lettering logos.....also on the front hood there is a red white and blue spitfire logo round with rectangle through it which i cannot seem to find in any catalogs....any help would be greatly appreciated.
sincerely,
brian

Answer
The radio antennas were installed (and the holes drilled) by each dealer so it sometimes depended on what antennas and radios that the dealer wanted to supply. Yes, most were in the rear.
I don't have any info that locates logos and my memories of 1969 are not sharp enough to tell you exactly where to place it. You might try to contact a local British car club to find some Spitfire restorers, there are usually several in each club.
