Towing Issues: Towing issues, tow truck authority, colorado laws

Ok my car got towed in Boulder, Colorado.  According to the tow company, my car was taken tuesday night meaning it has been 2 days.  When i went to go get my car they said it was gonna cost 260.  I thought that this value was too high with charges that are ridiculous. I have been doing "research" but can't seem to find a list of rules and regulations. where can i obtain one?

Welcome to the problem with Colorado and towing...

From what  understand a tow company in Fort Collins can drive down to Boulder and impound cars from Private Property and tow it back to Fort Collins and charge for it...


I have not had much luck with Colorado laws and finding them, but I know there are laws.... Just not sure where to find them....

You might contact the State PUC office as they do regulate some parts of the tow truck authority...

(that or I am just going to have to take a vacation to Colorado and hang out at tow companies to get the information for this volunteer board.)
