Triumph Repair: 1972 TR6 PDWA Issue, moss motors, vintage triumph

Question
I'm restoring a 72 TR6 and was bleeding the brakes when I discovered that the PDWA switch was leaking brake fluid. I disconnected the switch wire and put my thumb on the switch hole while the brake pedal was pumped. I could feel pressure build up with each pump. Does this mean the switch is not operating properly and needs to be replaced?  Also how do I ensure that the PDWA piston is positioned properly during or after bleeding the brakes?

I live in western Canada and where might I find a supplier for TR6 parts?

Thanks

Answer
Ken,

If it's leaking through the switch then it's possible that replacing the switch itself may solve the problem.  It might turn out that you'll have to replace the PDWA completely if the other seals are bad.

You might try Moss Motors (www.mossmotors.com) they may be able to supply parts to Canada.  Or take a look at the Vintage Triumph Register website (www.VTR.org)and see if there are any suppliers listed local to your area.

Cheers,

Jim
