Triumph Repair: tr7 want start, ballast resistor, modual

Question
I checked the ignition and there isn't any fire coming to the spark pluges. It has electroic ingntion I believe, It is either firing or its not. The ingnition modual and all the system is pretty well sealed. Purhaps you can guide me in testing the system? I don't want to throw parts at it.

If it's the original Lucas system the best test seems to be to set the coil lead where you can see it spark then turn the ignition on and pull the connector off the ballast resistor.  If you get spark, then it's something else.  Otherwise, either there's a wiring fault (broken wire, loose connector, mouse in the loom) or the electronics have died.   Unfortunately when they go, they're gone.  

Supposedly a GM CEI module can be substituted in... a quick web search should turn up the instructions.
