hi, i bought my spitfire for $5400 4 yrs ago. it is in great shape. i was wondering what is it worth today?

There are a lot of variables in figuring the price on a Spitfire.  What options does the car have (overdrive is a great bonus!), alloy wheels, etc.

Is it mostly original or has it been redone?  If redone, was it redone to original specs or "improved" upon?

How much of the car's history do you know?  Just the last buyer, or did you get a good stack of documentation?

Your best bet is to look around for a local British car specialist or exotic car specialist and see if they'll give you an appraisal or estimate, based on what they actually see.

In practical terms I've seen good running cars go anywhere from $300 to $8000, with someone on ebay asking $35,000 as an obvious joke.  The $8000 car was an absolutely original perfect show winner.
