Triumph Repair: GT6 Rotoflex rear hub fitting, rear hub, haynes manual

Question
When fitting the rear hub on a rotoflex equiped car, the shop manual says to use a churchill tool to determine the rear hub endfloat, and thus the number of shims required--Since the churchill tool is not available, how can I fit the hub?--The haynes manual I have doesn't even mention the procedure at all--Thanks, Brett

Answer
Brett,

I've been polling my own experts about this problem and the best solution seems to be:

Fit up the hub pieces you have and torque them to about the proper torque.  Measure the end float, adjust accordingly.  It may take several tries to get it correct.

Cheers,

Jim
