Triumph Repair: Changing Carbs, bmw 318i, luck dave

Hello: I have a 79 Spit 1500 and would like to change my carbs...presently Strombergs and would like to change to Weber. Is this a 'spit tech' job only? or with the right manuals should I attempt it?

graham, i think if you get the kit made for it it usually has the instructions with it and i think you could do it. i did buy a "bolt on" kit for a BMW 318i and found it to be not quite bolt on though.the hardest part is getting the linkage and water lines that sometimes run through it all hooked up.the kit i had did not include gaskets or a brake booster fiting.i don't have time to put a web site up to show stuff but there is probably some out there just search spitfire carb conversion! good luck Dave
