UK Car Repair: Renault Clio SI whirring noise, wishbone bushes, cv joints

Question
Hi, ive seen a similar question to this one but i have recently purchased this car, its a 1999 plate. It is making a noise on the drivers side, sometimes i can be doing 40mph, other times 70mph. It happens intermitently and also when i press the clutch pedal down or slow down from a fast speed. They previous owner said he had the bearings done recently, can you shed any light on it? Thanks in advance!

Answer
Jack up the wheel and inspect for play. If theres play find out where it comes from.
Hub to wheel or hub/suspension/driveshaft.
Driveshafts are eaten quickly on these... And the inner and outer cv joints, and the wishbone bushes.
Check it all out.
